The University of Groningen in the Netherlands, has an amazing department High Performance Computing and Visualisation pushing the boundaries of user experience and interface design. The department’s version of ‘Science on a Sphere’ project is simply fantastic, and provides and new way of experiencing the science of the Earth.
The interface uses data collected from NOAA and brings a 3D view of the scientific representations of the Earth. The demo is displayed on a massive touchscreen that only intensifies the experience… fully amercing the user into the solar system.
